The Art of Tarot

IMG_0857.jpeg

As a psychic medium, I need no tool to tune in to the other side but that does not mean that I do not enjoy using psychic tools at times.

I believe that Tarot cards and other psychic methods of tuning in can be enjoyable and surprisingly accurate.

When I was young, like many others, my friends and I would do Tarot card spreads for each other as a bit of fun. It was relaxing and bonding and we really did not take it too seriously but still fancied ourselves as “mystics” tapping into unknown forces. Of course, we always hoped the cards would tell us of a mysterious Knight in shining armour coming to sweep us off our feet!

I remember the Mystic Tarot being a particular favourite of mine when I was a teenager, I’m pretty sure the images from that deck are forever blazoned upon my mind’s eye, I used it so much!

But hey, we didn’t have mobile phones, social media or Netflix back then…and ghosts, spirits and the psychic realm was just so darn intriguing.

As I grew into my natural abilities when I was older, I found that I used Tarot less and focused on my direct connection with the divine more. There was a time that I found they simply “got in the way” of my psychic flow. But now I  use them as a tool and not as the sole source of messages and predictions and I think that really is the key. You need to use them as an aid and still make the focus your own psychic senses/intuition and self knowledge. It can take time to develop this, if you are new to it but it is a fun journey and one worth taking, if this is something that you are wanting to pursue.

I always had various tarot decks in the house over the years that my friends and family would use out of curiosity when visiting or I would pick them up when needing a boost or some inspiration for a quick read.

I love that they give everyone the opportunity to tune in for themselves, even if it is in the smallest ways. They really do have a universal appeal that way.

Many people I know use them this way and I think that is lovely and they have a soulful purpose for many people. Whether they give you a simple boost or reminder when you need it or give you some deeper insight and help or psychic messages really do flow for you, they really can be a positive experience.

My children also loved our Angel decks and Unicorn cards when they were growing up, they were always uplifting and gentle and fun for them and they would sit around and draw cards for themselves often. Children’s decks are purely light and entertaining and full of positive messages.

Over the years I found that I would bond or connect strongly with a particular deck and found that some decks would give incredibly accurate messages whereas others would not resonate so much.

The current deck that I am using is the Tattoo Tarot deck. I was browsing in a new age store and felt the psychic energy with this pack as soon as a picked it up, which surprised me. I felt compelled to purchase it and upon using it, myself and others close to me were blown away by it’s accuracy. I find it to be very good for psychic tarot readings.

I also have another very beautiful tarot deck called the White Light Oracle – very spiritual and soothing and very deep and impactful. Not for typical tarot spreads but perfect for insight on emotional and spiritual levels. Beautiful artwork and meanings/descriptions also.

I shall review both decks in depth soon via this blog, complete with photos, so keep an eye out if you are interested to know more about them.

I believe that you should choose the deck that speaks to you. Be sure that you feel the energy and feel genuinely drawn to the deck as this is the best sign that it is the right deck for you. A tarot deck that resonates for you may not resonate at all for another, it really is very personal that way. Use the deck that works for you.

There are some decks out there that have a darker/more negative energy and I avoid these decks. I prefer to work only with the light and with higher beings and do not choose to interact with the more negative forces/energies out there. Be discerning and be careful what images and messages you invite into your psyche and life.

I also do not use “upside down” meanings for my readings nor do I let the “scarier” cards intimidate me. Many people I know are afraid of tarot due to cards like the “Death” card and “The Devil” card and they are pretty scary if you take them on face value! But nothing has the meaning you think it does and it is very, very open to interpretation and personal reflection. They are all symbols/symbolic and have meanings that go back a long way in time. They still draw on these ancient symbols which is why it is important to be careful how you interpret their messages. Again, use your intuition and your own psychic energy, do not rely solely on the cards for meaning. Anything that is open to interpretation is also open to misinterpretation, which can cause unnecessary stress and upset.

I like to say a prayer/set an intention that only positive and useful messages come through as I know that spirit guides and angels want to guide and not scare us! Protect your energy and your tarot experience and be wary of superstitions and fear.

All of my psychic readings only involve direct communication with spirit guides and the other side unless you have specifically ordered a Tarot reading from me. Then I simply blend the art of Tarot with my natural psychic abilities to give you an interesting and insightful reading. Tarot can be very interesting and entertaining and it is a fascinating ancient art that dates back to the late 14th / early 15th Century, originating in Italy.

I don’t think my home has ever been without at least a couple of Tarot decks and whether you use them simply for entertainment or you find that you genuinely connect with them psychically and they really speak to you, I think they are worth being curious about.

Blessings to you,

Sarah xox
